(London) — The longtime CEO of Fiat Chrysler is stepping down due to health issues. The automaker announced that Sergio Marchionne [[ MARK-ee-OH-nee ]] is resigning after complications from recent surgery. The 66-year-old auto industry legend will also leave his leadership roles at Ferrari. Marchionne is credited with rescuing Chrysler after the 2008 financial crisis left U.S. car companies on the brink of ruin. Details of Marchionne’s illness were not disclosed. He’ll be replace by the head Fiat Chrysler’s Ram and Jeep brands, Mike Manley.
