According to the Illinois State Police District 10, a traffic crash occurred on IL Route 47 at Champaign County Road and 2800 North on Saturday, July 25th, at 5:16 a.m. The crash involved a Black 2004 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 23 year old male from Tuscola. There were two passengers, a 27 year old male from Ashley,Ohio and a 21 year old male from Sadorus, Illinois.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, the driver of the Sonata was traveling southbound on Illinois Route 47 near County Road 2800 N, lost control and entered the east side ditch sideways. The vehicle crashed into the bean field and rolled several times. All occupants were ejected and were not wearing their seatbelts. The driver and both passengers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. Alcohol was located on scene and may have contributed to the crash. Illinois Route 47 was closed for approximately 1.5 hours.
No charges were issued at this time. The investigation is still ongoing by the Illinois State Police. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
