The Trooper stated he saw the subject outside of his vehicle and when he approached, the subject scrambled back into the vehicle in a suspicious manner. The subject advised he needed assistance and asked for a ride. After the subject granted consent to a pat down before entering the Trooper’s squad car for a ride, a loaded magazine was found on his person. A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a .380 caliber handgun, a sawed off shotgun, drug paraphernalia, and cannabis. Jake was arrested, charged, and processed at the Champaign County Jail. A booking photo is available at the Champaign County Jail.
