Illinois State Police District 10 released information regarding a traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, July 29th in I-74 W milepost 164 in Piatt County.
According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, a silver 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Corina I. Yara, age 64 of Fairbury, was traveling eastbound on I-74, in the right lane, when the driver left the roadway to the right. Witnesses stated the Chevrolet Malibu regained control steering back onto the roadway. The Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway to the left and entered into the median. The Chevrolet Malibu barrel-rolled 2 times coming to a final resting position upright in the median facing westbound. All lanes are open at this time.
Yara was transported from the crash scene to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the traffic crash. Seatbelts were worn.
Charges for the crash include DUI-Drugs, No valid license, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash, Driving on the Roadway Shoulder, and Violating the Median.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
