Police are rushing to the Naval Medical Center in San Diego in response to a possible active shooter on the scene. So far there are no reports of any casualties, but the center is advising its staff on its Facebook page to run, fight or hide. KNSD-TV reports police have confirmed they received word from Center staff members of shots fired.
An employee at the Center tells the station the building has a “mental ward” in it and it serves wounded warriors. She said the staff goes through active shooter training on a regular basis. The Center takes up a large portion of Balboa Park in the heart of the city.
