Congressman John Shimkus today announced that he has been endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee in the primary election.
“I am honored to have the support of this strong, pro-family, conservative organization,” said Shimkus. “I am proud of my record of voting to defund Planned Parenthood and voting for pro-life and pro-family policies. I will always fight to protect life.”
In their endorsement, the National Right to Life Committee wrote, “throughout your tenure in the House of Representatives, you have consistently voted in favor of life and you are to be commended for your unwavering commitment to the cause of life.”
The endorsement letter also noted: “You have been a constant and stalwart defender of life. You have regularly spoken in defense of life on the House floor and have supported pro-life measures that protect mothers and their unborn children.”
Shimkus has a 100% rating on ten votes that NRLC scored in the current 114th Congress. The National Right to Life Committee is the nation’s oldest and largest pro-life organization. It has been defending life since 1968.
