Kim Clarke Maisch, Illinois state director of the National Federation of Independent Business, released the following statement today in response to Governor Rauner’s budget address:
“In his address today, Governor Rauner continued to focus on the state’s need for structural reforms to the economy and government, because without those reforms we are doomed to continue down this path of fiscal insolvency.
“NFIB and our small business members are solidly behind Governor Rauner and his commitment to changing the status quo, putting Illinois on a path to a strong economic recovery, and ensuring our state has a secure future.
“It is clear Governor Rauner is looking to work with, not against, Illinois’ legislative leaders, and we hope they will accept his challenge so we can again make Illinois a great place to live and do business.”
NFIB/Illinois is the state’s leading small-business association with 11,000 dues-paying members representing a cross section of the state’s economy.
