Lake Land College Community and Professional Programs will offer two classes that focus on setting a budget, understanding a credit report and the home buying process.
The course details and information are as follows:
|Budget and Credit 101 – This class will cover how to set goals, make a budget, understand a credit report and credit score, how credit affects many aspects of life. Do you need to get out of debt or save for a car or a house? Did you know a bad credit score can stop you from getting a job, car insurance, a car or a house? Understand why with these steps to help you increase your credit score. This class is taught by Sandy Deters, Certified Housing Counselor/Financial Coach, Embarras River Basin Agency. Class will be held on Tuesday, March 29 from 6-9:30 p.m. in Webb Hall, room 105 and the cost is $25.|
Realizing the American Dream – Are you ready to buy a home? Understand financing a home, shopping for a home and a maintaining home. Take this class along with Budget and Credit 101 to receive a $50 waiver for documentation fees from a local bank. You will also receive a Homeownership Education Certificate required by certain types of home mortgage loans. The class will be taught by Sandy Deters, Certified Housing Counselor/Financial Coach, Embarras River Basin Agency. Class will be hold on Thursday, March 31 from 6-9:30 p.m. in Webb Hall, room 105 and the cost is $25.
