(Washington, DC) — President Trump’s legal team says he didn’t know about a meeting between his son and a Russian lawyer linked to the Kremlin. The “New York Times” reports that a spokesman for Trump’s legal team says “the President was not aware of and did not attend” the meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and the Russian attorney. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort were also in the meeting.
Trump Jr. claims he met with the woman in June 2016 and she told him she had information that “individuals connected to Russia” were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He says her claims were “vague, ambiguous and made no sense” and that she had no supporting details or information.
