C.E.F.S Economic Opportunity Corporation is a Community Action Agency serving seven different counties: Effingham, Clay, Fayette, Shelby, Moultrie, Montgomery, and Christian. CEFS is a non-profit corporation serving economic and socially disadvantaged residents through state, federal, and private funding.
C.E.F.S. develops, implements, and evaluates social service programs to assist economically and socially disadvantaged people in their quest for greater self-sufficiency. We offer programs as diverse as the needs of the people in the communities we serve. CEFS strives to educate, empower, and improve the lives of our clients.

Our programs include: Central Illinois Public Transit Program (CIPT), Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG), Emergency Food and Shelter Program, Emergency Solutions Program, Homebuyer Assistance Program, Rental Housing Support Program, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHAP), Meals on Wheels, Rapid Rehousing Program, Home Weatherization Assistance Program, Literacy Program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Single Family Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program, Supportive Housing Program, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program (WIOA), and Head Start 0-5 Program.
These programs provide: Child & Youth Services, Education Services, Emergency Services, Employment & Training, Housing Programs, Nutrition Services, Senior Services, Transportation Services, and Utility Assistance.
