Governor Rauner Signs New Illinois School Funding Plan
(Chicago, IL) — Illinois schools have a year to get ready for a new system of getting money from Springfield. Governor Bruce Rauner yesterday signed what he is calling a “historic” overhaul of how Illinois pays for public schools. The biggest change is a new formula that will send more state money to schools that ‘need’ it the most. All schools are being promised that they won’t lose money next year. Many including Chicago schools will get a lot more.
