SPRINGFIELD – Voters have once again delivered for Abraham Lincoln.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum was selected as one of the top attractions in Illinois by voters in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest.
Coming in at No. 3, the ALPLM was the top attraction outside the Chicago area. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum has been a huge hit with visitors since opening in 2005. More than 4 million people have walked through the doors to learn about America’s greatest president through a mix of old-fashioned scholarship and cutting-edge technology.
Its average TripAdvisor score is five stars, with a stunning 96 percent of reviewers rating it “excellent” or “very good.” Reviewers are just as enthusiastic on Yelp and Facebook.
“We are delighted that visitors respond so enthusiastically. President Lincoln is both a fascinating person and a key figure in American history, and it’s important that people of all ages and backgrounds learn about him,” said Alan Lowe, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. “Results like ranking so high in the USA Today 10Best voting reaffirm that we’re helping people truly connect with Lincoln.”
