UPDATED: Reaction Coming In On The Death Of Music Legend Fats Domino
(New Orleans, LA) — The music world is saying “Aint That a Shame,” now that Fats Domino is dead at the age of 89. Domino was known for his songs “Blueberry Hill,” “Ain’t That a Shame” and “Walkin’ To New Orleans.” Reaction is coming in on the death of the music legend. Harry Connick Jr. tweeted “Fats Domino helped pave the way for New Orleans piano players. See you on top of that blueberry hill in the sky.” There are conflicting reports as to when Domino actually died. One report had him dying yesterday while the coroner for Jefferson Parish says Domino died today.
Domino was born Antoine Domino Jr. in New Orleans Lower 9th Ward on February 26, 1928. He was a Creole French musician who pioneered a boogie-woogie style of piano playing that would become the bedrock of rock. John Lennon once told “People” magazine that Domino’s “Aint That a Shame” was the first song he ever learned how to play.

(New Orleans, LA) — Music legend Fats Domino is dead. The singer was 89. His daughter says Domino was surrounded by family and friends when he died early today. Domino was known for his songs “Blueberry Hill,” “Ain’t That a Shame” and “Walkin’ To New Orleans.” He was honored with a Grammy for Lifetime Achievement in 1987. “Rolling Stone” magazine listed Fats Domino as the “25th Greatest Recording Artist of All Time.”
