Indiana Republicans Pitch Plan To Shrink Townships
(Indianapolis, IN) — Some of Indiana’s smallest pieces of government could be on the chopping block as part of a plan to make government smaller in Indiana. Republicans at the Indiana Statehouse yesterday unveiled a plan they say could eliminate 300 of the state’s nearly one thousand townships. House Speaker Brian Bosma says the idea is to merge townships with less than 12-hundred people over the next five years.
