Capitol Managers Confirm Legionella At Statehouse Complex
(Springfield, IL) — There are new fears about Legionnaires disease at another state of Illinois building. Managers at the State Capitol yesterday said they found Legionella, the bacteria that can lead to Legionnaires disease, in four places at the Capitol Complex. The Illinois Secretary of State’s office says they don’t have any reports of anyone coming down with Legionnaires. The bacteria was found in the water system in the statehouse, in a computer center a few blocks away, and in the women’s restroom of the office building next to the Capitol.
