Update: Docs Not Discussing Shooting Suspect’s Condition
(Parkland, FL) — Doctors in South Florida are refusing to provide an update into the condition of the man suspected of opening fire at a high school in Parkland. Dr. Evan Boyer of Broward Health North said the suspect was treated and released into the custody of police. He added that of the eight patients who were taken to the hospital, two died, three were critical, and three were stable. In all, 17 people were killed in the shooting.

(Parkland, FL) — Seventeen people are dead as a result of today’s shooting at a high school in South Florida. Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said the dead include both students and adults, but he couldn’t say if any of the adults were teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Israel said the suspect in custody is 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, who’s a former student at the school. Israel said Cruz was expelled from the school for disciplinary reasons. Israel said there’s no indication of a motive in the case yet.
Israel remarked that Cruz’s social media accounts are already being examined by authorities. He added that if anyone sees someone post content on social media that features bombs, firearms, or other weapons, they should alert police.
