Report: Illinois Pegged Quincy Repairs At Eight Million In 2016
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois put the price tag to fix the troubled plumbing at the Quincy veterans home at eight million-dollars just a few years ago. A number of outlets reported yesterday that the state commissioned a report back in 2016 that said Illinoiscould replace the plumbing at the home where 13 people have died from Legionnaires disease at eight million-dollars. That’s far less than the 30 million-dollars that Illinois Department Veterans Affairs managers told lawmakers that it would cost to do the work.
