SIU Carbondale Chancellor Blames Misunderstanding For Daughter’s Perk
(Carbondale, IL) — The chancellor at Southern Illinois University’s main campus is blaming a misunderstanding for his daughter moving on the university’s dime. SIU Chancellor Carlo Montemagno yesterday told “The Southern Illinoisan” that he didn’t realize his daughter was living in one of his two homes in Canada and, therefore, didn’t realize the university paid an extra 16-thousand-dollars to move her stuff to Carbondale. Montemagno says he reimbursed the school earlier this month. But there are still questions about how Montemagno’s daughter got a job at the university.
