Pacific Island Bones May Be Amelia Earhart’s Remains
(Knoxville, TN) — A scientist says Amelia Earhart’s bones may have been found on a Pacific island nearly 80 years ago. An anthropology professor at the University of Tennessee says he’s 99-percent sure bones discovered in 1940 are remains of the legendary aviator. The new research contradicts a 1941 analysis of the bones that said they were those of a man. The Earhart disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean in 1937.
