Tornadoes Hit Three Southern Illinois Counties, Damage Varies
(Marion, IL) — The damage from southern Illinois’ brush with severe weather varies from a few trees down to a potentially expensive cleanup. Emergency managers in Williamson, Saline and Massac counties yesterday said they are still assessing all of the damage from Tuesday night’s storms. No one was seriously hurt in any of the counties. The National Weather Service is looking into reports of tornado touchdowns in all three counties. Forecasters say it could take them a few days to confirm the specifics of all of the storm damage in southern Illinois.
