Army Announces 30 Million-Dollar Arsenal High Tech Manufacturing Investment
(Rock Island, IL) — The Army is looking to the Rock Island Arsenal to do more. Arsenal commanders yesterday announced a 30 million-dollar high tech manufacturing investment from the Pentagon. General Gustave Perna yesterday said the idea is to beef-up the Arsenal’s ability to manufacture parts and components for the Army, so commanders don’t have to chase those pieces down from private suppliers. The Arsenal is getting eleven new machines for the job, including a 3-D printer.
