Oklahoma Wildfire Rages, Conditions Remain Critical
(Dewey County, OK) — Wildfires in western Oklahoma continue to rage, leaving conditions critical. The fires have claimed two lives so far, but firefighters remain hopeful that the situation will improve. Officials have continuously tried to contain the fire, but the danger for flames remains high as over 283 thousand acres have burned in the last week. The fires have burned faster than usual due to strong winds and dry conditions from lack of rainfall. In an effort to prevent more wildfires 36 counties in western Oklahoma have implemented a burn ban.
