(Riyadh) — New Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is in Saudi Arabia calling for new sanctions against Iran. His visit to Saudi Arabia, Israel and Jordan comes just two days after he was sworn in. He’s urging nations worldwide to slap sanctions on any person or entity associated with Iran’s missile program, according to a senior policy adviser. Iran’s missile program isn’t covered under a 2015 deal between Iran and major powers that gives sanctions relief in exchange for limiting Iran’s nuclear development. Trump has threatened to nix the deal unless it is reworked. The WHite House is also calling for more Middle Eastern support to help bring stability to areas formerly controlled by ISIS.
