Quincy Leaders ‘Thrilled’ To See Vets Home Money In State Budget
(Quincy, IL) — Leaders in Quincy say they’re thrilled that the state of Illinois is including some of the money need to repair the Quincy veterans home in the new state budget. Lawmakers added 53 million-dollars to the budget last week. Former state Rep Mike McClain, who is on the local committee helping the home, said over the weekend that some of the 53 million will go to buy a local nursing home and turn that into a temporary home for veterans while crews build new dorms and a new water treatment plant at the Quincy veterans campus.
