Alan Alda Announces He Has Parkinson’s Disease
(Undated) — Alan Alda wants people to know he has Parkinson’s disease, and he’s doing well. The award-winning actor, director, and writer said today on CBS This morning he was diagnosed in 2015. Alda said he’s had a full life since he was diagnosed three and-a-half years ago. He says he’s acted, given talks, and started a new podcast. Alda said he has hardly any symptoms other than noticing his thumb twitch. He said he thought it was only a matter of time before someone did a story on his condition from a sad point of view and Alda said that is not where he is.
Alda starred in the longtime CBS hit series M.A.S.H. where he won Emmy awards as an actor, writer, and director. He also won a supporting actor Emmy for his work on The West Wing.
