Sessions Plans To Fight Chicago Police Consent Decree
(Chicago, IL) — U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is planning to fight a pending consent decree aimed at reforming the ChicagoPolice Department. Sessions announced yesterday that he would file a statement in federal court opposing the proposed court order. He said Chicago’s agreement with the ACLU in 2015 undercut proactive policing in the city and led to a surge in murders. His announcement came a day after President Trump suggested the Chicago police department should start using stop-and-frisk to combat crime.
