An Indiana man has been charged with DUI and using a cellphone in the accident that killed April Fisher, of Mattoon, yesterday (Tuesday, December 11.)
According to the Coles County Sheriff’s Office, 56-year-old James Miller was southbound on Loxa Road and failed to stop at the intersection of Route 316. Miller’s vehicle collided with the driver’s side of Fisher’s vehicle. She died at the scene. Miller, who was airlifted from the scene, was also ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and disobeying a stop sign.
