(Undated) — Public education employees are quitting their jobs at record rates. The Wall Street Journal looked at data from the Department of Labor and found that a rate of 83 per 10-thousand employees are resigning their jobs in the first 10 months of 2018. That is the highest since Labor began compiling those statistics in 2001. Many say they are leaving because of low salaries and poor working conditions. Teachers in six states this year staged protests as state legislatures cut back funding for education to deal with the Great Recession.
