Weekly Jobless Claims Fall
(Washington, DC) — Fewer Americans are filing for unemployment claims. The Labor Department reports this morning 214-thousand workers filed first-time jobless claims last week. That’s down nine-thousand from the previous week as last week’s total was revised up from 222-thousand to 223-thousand. The largest claims were in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Massachusetts. The largest decreases were in California, Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Arizona.
