NOTICE TO ELDERLY AND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
GENERAL PRIMARY ELECTION, TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2020
VOTE BY MAIL, EARLY VOTING, GRACE PERIOD REGISTRATION/VOTING
Elderly and persons with disabilities who are not registered to vote and cannot leave their home, hospital, nursing home or other institution because of a permanent physical disability can arrange for voter registration by contacting the County Clerk’s Office at 348-0523.
All polling places in Coles County are accessible to persons with disabilities or the elderly.
ACCESSIBLE LOCATIONS FOR VOTER REGISTRATION PURPOSES: Mattoon City Clerk’s Office, 208 N. 19th Street and the Coles County Courthouse 651 Jackson Ave. Rm 122 Charleston, IL
VOTE BY MAIL: The last day a signed Vote by Mail application can be accepted in the Coles County Clerk’s Office is Thursday, March 12, 2020.
EARLY VOTING: February 6 – March 16, 2020 at the Mattoon City Clerk’s Office or Coles County Clerk’s Office. No excuse is needed to Early Vote.
GRACE PERIOD REGISTRATION/VOTING: February 19 – March 17, 2020. A person may register to vote or transfer their registration due to a name change or an address change. This method of registration is available only in the offices of the Coles County Clerk and Mattoon City Clerk during regular office hours, and if a person wants to vote in the upcoming election, they must vote at the same time they register.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: U.S. Citizen; 18 years of age by Election Day; resident of your current precinct 30 days prior to Election Day; two forms of identification, one showing current address.
