Korean War MIA Soldier’s Remains Returning To Illinois
(Sesser, IL) — The remains of a Missing in Action soldier from the Korean War are returning to southern Illinois. The Defense Department announced yesterday that the body of Army Corporal William Brown had been identified nearly 70 years after he went missing. Officials say Brown was killed at age 18, presumably during the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, where his remains were reportedly recovered by North Korean officials. North Korea returned 55 boxes of remains from the area to the U.N in 2018 and Brown’s remains were identified in that group.
