Deputy Hit, Injured From Scott’s Law Violation
(Danville, IL) — A Vermilion County Sheriff’s deputy is hurt after a being hit by a woman who violated Scott’s law. The deputy was responding yesterday morning to an accident on the left shoulder of the westbound lanes of I-74. Authorities say a 70-year-old woman from Tennessee was trying to switch into the left lane when she hit the deputy’s car and pushed it into the median. The deputy was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and violating Scott’s Law.
