Six To Receive Illinois’ Highest Honor For Achievement, Service
(Springfield, IL) — Six people are receiving the 2020 Order of Lincoln, the state’s highest honor for their professional achievement and public service. Recipients include former NASA astronaut Captain Scott Altman, former ISU, NBA, and Olympic basketball player and coach Doug Collins, and father of agricultural biotechnology Robert Fraley. Other recipients are former Ambassador and permanent representative to the U.N. Donald McHenry, president and CEO of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Dr. Joanne Smith, and singer, actress, and civil rights activist Mavis Staples.
