The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Crawford County Thursday night. The tornado damaged multiple homes and buildings while trapping at least one person.
Authorities said a mobile home overturned during the storm, leaving a woman trapped inside. An elderly woman suffered some injuries as a result and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Sheriff William Rutan said 12 to 15 buildings sustained damage. No deaths have been reported at this time.
Officials are asking residents whose property was damaged to contact the county’s emergency operations at 618-546-5602.
