Officials Awaiting Report On Deadly Intersection
(Moultrie County, IL) — Moultrie County officials are still awaiting a report about a deadly intersection. The intersection of Illinois 32 and Bruce Findlay remains mostly the same more than 100 days after the September 27th crash that killed five-year-old Tyson Mendoza and longtime teacher Lori Samples. The county cannot act to make changes to the intersection until they receive recommendations from an audit by the Illinois Department of Transportation. It is the second time state transportation officials have analyzed the intersection’s safety.
