UPDATED: Great Lakes Naval Station Lockdown After Unauthorized Vehicle Drives Past Security Checkpoint
(Great Lakes, IL) — More information is surfacing about this morning’s lockdown at Naval Station Great Lakes in the northern suburbs. A naval station spokesman says someone drove up to the front gate and drove pass security without stopping or showing ID. Officials urged personnel to take cover in the nearest building as they look for the gate runner. Security is still searching for the suspects and the car. There is no word on how many people are in the vehicle.

Lockdown Ordered At Naval Station Great Lakes
(Great Lakes, IL) — Great Lakes Naval Station in north suburban Chicago is on lockdown. A post this morning on the military facilities Facebook page instructed personnel to take cover inside the closest building as officials search for a gate runner. All gates are closed at this time.
