State Treasurer Seeking Feedback On Student Debt Law
(Champaign, IL) — State leaders are working on ways to lower student debt in Illinois. Treasurer Michael Frerichs visited the University of Illinois in Champaign yesterday to get feedback on the Student Loan Investment Act. The law gives the treasurer 750-million dollars to lower student loan debt. The purpose of the forum was to discuss the most effective ways to split up the money and prevent future debt. The visit was the first of several forums that will be held across the state.
