The Cowboys have decided to keep Tony Romo on the 53-man roster rather than place him on injured reserve. Romo is not expected to play for at least six weeks and might be out until November with a compression fracture in his back, the third major back injury of his career. The injured reserve list would have left him out of action until at least November 6th. For now, the offense is in the hands of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.
