Wife Of Sportscaster Chris Berman Dies In Car Crash
(Woodbury, CT) — The wife of ESPN broadcaster Chris Berman has been killed in a car crash in Connecticut. The crash occurred Tuesday afternoon in Woodbury. State police say a Lexus driven by 67-year-old Katherine Berman and a Ford Escape driven by an 87-year-old man collided, killing the second driver. ESPN said in a statement “this is a devastating tragedy and difficult to comprehend. Chris is beloved by all his ESPN colleagues.” State police say both vehicles were traveling east on Route 64 when Berman’s car rear-ended the Ford. The SUV veered off the road and hit a utility pole. Berman’s Lexus traveled right, slammed into an embankment and landed in a body of water.
