Downtown Champaign Business Owners Worried After Shooting
(Champaign, IL) — Some business owners in Champaign say a weekend shooting makes the case for more police officers on the streets. Champaign Police arrested Malcolm Comer very early Saturday morning for allegedly firing more than a dozen rounds into the air while standing in a downtown street. Blind Pig brewery owner Chris Knight said he’s asked for more officers to patrol downtown on weekend nights, and he hopes that happens after Saturday’s shooting.
