Two-million people and 48-thousand marchers are expected to turn out for New York City’s Pride Parade this Sunday. The annual civil rights demonstration kicks off at noon Eastern time and will wind its way past the historic Stonewall Inn. Organizers say this year’s theme is “defiantly different” and is intended to prompt New Yorkers into taking a stance against policies that have a negative impact on LGBTQ communities. Tennis great Billie Jean King is one of the parade’s four grand marshals.
