At last night’s meeting of the Charleston City Council, council members heard from a reprsentative from the Eastern Illinois University UPI faculty union who announced plans for a march will take place at 4:30 p.m. March 9th starting at Old Main, “the castle,” and ending at the Coles County Courthouse. During the march, participants will plant flags meant to represent all those who have lost their jobs or may potentially lose their jobs at EIU because of the budget crisis.
