The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Coles, Clark, Edgar, Cumberland, Douglas, Shelby, Moultrie, Piatt, Vermilion and Champaign counties.
A storm system will trigger scattered strong to severe thunderstorms tonight. The primary threats from the storms will be damaging wind guest and large hail. An isolated tornado will also be possible, however the greatest risk for tornadoes will remain northwest of the I-55 corridor.
Strong West – Southwest winds will develop tomorrow, reaching 25-30 MPH with gusts to around 45mph
Meanwhile for Clay, Crawford, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence and Richland counties, the National Weather Service says a storm system will trigger isolated strong thunderstorms tonight. Widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
