Pundits will debate the reasons, but the numbers show turnout for the Illinois primaries was high. The Republican presidential contest drew one-point-four-million voters Tuesday, compared with nine-hundred-90-thousand in 2012. One-point-nine-million voters pulled Democrat ballots yesterday, the second highest number ever, trailing only 2008 when Barack Obama first ran for President. The numbers will change slightly when absentee votes are added in.
