Mattoon police arrested Satchel T. Cook, age 21 of Mattoon, on Friday March 18th at 12:34 a.m. The arrest occurred at 44 Moultrie Ave. Cook was charged with Aggravated Battery and Resisting Arrest. The charges allege that Cook struck a senior citizen within a tavern, and that he then struggled with and repeatedly kicked at the arresting officer. The 73 year old victim suffered a facial injury. Cook was taken to the Coles County jail.
