According to WCIA online, when students or teachers left for spring break on the University of Illinois campus, there was a rise in burglaries. The worst part is that most didn’t know if happened until they returned. Which if sat too long, evidence could be lost to catch the culprits. Some places are even picked, because of social media posts of leaving town for spring break and would be easy to get into without interference. Police are now advising to make sure someone is at least watching your place while away, to not advertise on social media, and to invest in renter’s insurance as well.
