Governor Rauner is downplaying two high-profile losses in last week’s state primary. Rauner ally and State Representative Ken Dunkin was defeated by Juliana Stratton. A candidate backed by the governor also failed to beat Illinois Senator Sam McCann. Rauner told reporters that he doesn’t view the results as a rejection of his pro-business reforms, noting it’s a mistake to read much into any one election.
