Earlier in the week, EIU-UPI, Eastern Illinois University’s faculty union, voted to accept a salary deferral plan that will result in faculty and employees deferring between 2.5% and 7.5% back to the school to help the financially strapped university make its payroll until the end of the fiscal year. It is not yet known when this program will be put into effect.
