There will be a fundraiser event put on by the Support EIU Employees group on April 30th to help fund those who were laid off by EIU amidst the states ongoing budget deadlock which has caused a lack of funding for colleges across the state. The fundraiser is called “Fundfest” and is slated to take place from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. April 30th at the Coles County Fairgrounds. The festival will feature live music, food vendors, silent auctions, various booths, raffles, an art expo, and children’s activities such as carnival games. The group is currently seeking a large group of volunteers willing to assist with the fundraiser. More information about the event and how to get involved can be found at supporteiuemployees.org.
