Secretary Of State Says Vehicle Registration Late Fees Increasing

Payments for late fees for vehicle registrations in Illinois are spiking.  Since the state stopped mailing registration renewal notices, drivers in the state have paid nearly five-million dollars in late fees this year, over double the amount by this time last year, according to the Illinois Secretary of State.  It costs 20 dollars for a late fee.
